Our Why
It’s tough seeing our loved ones need our help. It’s tougher knowing that those we support might not be able to make the best financial decisions or get taken advantage of. Guardrails Financial exists to better empower caregivers to financially support those in their care.
The idea for Guardrails Financial came from our team watching our own loved ones need more support when it came to their finances. We know that feeling of the gut punch knowing a loved one got financially taken advantage of or that they made a purchase they shouldn’t have.
Why not a regular card or cash?
Scams and fraud. Bad actors targeting seniors continue to rise - the FBI reported nearly 100,000 complaints of fraud and those 60+ lost $3.1 billion dollars.
Bad Decisions. As we age we lose some of our discretion and decision making abilities. Nothing is worse than seeing a loved one make a bad purchase when you know they shouldn't have.
Spending your Money and Time. As a caregiver, it's your time and money often being spent to make it right. It all feels reactive, like a constant game of whack-a-mole trying to protect your loved ones and their spending.
